Highlights from Back To School 2016

YOU can help us turn a child who fears the first day of school...

“Emma showed me her new backpack. I don’t even have an old one... My uniform doesn’t fit me anymore...I’m supposed to bring all these supplies that my folks can’t afford to buy.”

Into a child who looks forward to the first day of school.

Starting school can be a stressful time in the best of circumstances. In some neighborhoods, parents are able to spend hundreds of dollars on back-to-school shopping, while many working poor families are struggling just to keep a roof over their heads.

Not having the right things on the first day of school has a huge impact not only a child’s self-confidence but also their readiness to learn. That’s why Foothill Unity Center’s Annual Back to School Distribution is such an important event.

With your support, we will help these children start the school year on a more even playing field.  New backpacks, new clothing, school supplies, and even professional haircuts and manicures make a huge difference with how a child feels when they go back to school.  We expect to register some 1,200 children grades K-12 for our 18th Annual Back to School Distribution on August 9th at Santa Anita Park Race Track.

Can you help give them a better start to school with results that last all year long?  Please send a check – and play a part in changing young lives.
