5 ways. 1 day. Lasting confidence for every student.

Our Back-to-School event provides more than school supplies—it builds a foundation for student success that lasts a lifetime. Powered by community support, it brings together volunteers, donors, and partners to serve local families and students in need. We look forward to uplifting students again this year and hope you’ll be part of it!

These volunteers ARE community champions 👏

Thank you to the Alexandria Real Estate (ARE) team from Pasadena for not only volunteering, but also organizing a donation drive for pet food, adult incontinence supplies, and blood pressure cuffs! These are some of our most-needed items, and we are grateful for their generosity and support.

Their help during a sorting and packing shift also keeps our operations moving efficiently, allowing us to distribute more food to families in need through our upcoming distributions.

Thank you, ARE, for making a meaningful impact in our community!

Dear Foothill Unity Supporter,

We would like to express our sincerest gratitude for all the support you have shown the Center and our neighbors in the San Gabriel Valley. Although we may be the central hub for those in need of resources, we are successful due to your continued efforts that keep our communities thriving.

As you may know each summer, we host our Back-to-School event to prepare families and children for the upcoming school year. This year we expect approximately 1,500 to 2,000 children ranging from PreK to College students to attend the event on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at the Santa Anita Racetrack.
We need your help to ensure that our students can show up on their first day with everything they need to succeed, including a sense of confidence.

Your gift today can help a student start the school year feeling understood, included, and ready to succeed. The impact goes beyond the classroom, building confidence they will carry with them long after the school year ends.

Interested in making an even greater impact? Our sponsorship opportunities offer additional ways to support local students and families. Contact us to learn more—we would love to connect with you.

Thank you for your consideration and support as we work together to ensure every student feels seen, supported, and prepared for the upcoming academic year.

With gratitude,
Jhoana Hirasuna
Executive Director
Your home can be part of the solution. During Wildfire Preparedness Month, create defensible space: clear dry leaves and debris, trim vegetation away from structures and keep gutters/roofs free of buildup. Small actions help reduce risk and support safer emergency responses. Tap the #linkinbio to learn more.
Rooted in community. Resilient through adversity. Rising together.

Our Executive Director, Jhoana Hirasuna, was honored to serve as a panelist at the 2026 SGV Women’s Summit, sharing reflections on Altadena’s recovery, community resiliency, and the critical role nonprofits and partnerships play in rebuilding after disaster.

Together, we continue the work of supporting, uplifting, and strengthening our communities 💙

It’s #WildfirePreparednessMonth. Preparedness starts long before the fire season. At SCE, we take a layered, year-round approach to reduce wildfire risk — and we’re asking customers to take a few practical steps, too: make an evacuation plan, refresh your go-bag and sign up for local alerts. Preparedness is ongoing — not seasonal. Tap the #linkinbio to learn more.
In observance of Memorial Day, our Centers will be closed on Monday, May 25th and reopen the following day.
