The National Day of Prayer was established in 1952, when the US Congress designated the first Thursday in May as a time for all Americans, regardless of their faiths, to join in celebrating the shared beliefs and values that unite them. Arcadia’s service is an interfaith gathering in which different faiths share a small part of their practices to underline that there are more similarities than differences among them.
