Foothill Unity Center offers mobile showers, as well as other essential grooming services, for some unhoused neighbors in our communities.
Foothill Unity has placed a major priority on the health and well-being on those less fortunate, many of whom are homeless. The new addition of the mobile showers program — with funding through Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority and collaborations with local partners — is an ongoing service for the community in need at both the Monrovia and Pasadena locations.
The mobile showers are discreetly placed inside a panel truck. There is privacy assured and an assistant on hand if there are special needs.
Additionally, Foothill Unity will also include other partner services including from Simply Divine, which provides mobile hair cutting, and Creative Works, which helps clients with a hot meal.
The inaugural program for the mobile showers were offered with partner Loving Care. The reaction was very positive and will ensure that unhoused clients are able to access showers, haircuts and nutritious meals. Charging stations for mobile devices are available too.
