Neighborhood Treasures celebrates historically significant Monrovians through the installation of public art pieces in various neighborhoods throughout the community. The goal of the program is to enrich the lives of those who view the art and improve neighborhoods by its presence.

In October 2022, Neighborhood Treasures dedicated a street post honoring Josephine Anderson, our Founder of Foothill Unity Center. Foothill Unity Center was founded in 1980 by Josephine Anderson in a borrowed church closet in Monrovia, California, to provide food to a few hungry families. Over the years the Center has become a major source of food, health services and crisis assistance for thousands of low-income families.

Thank you to  the City of Monrovia and Monrovia Neighborhood Treasures for recognizing our founder and Foothill Unity Center as a place dedicated to serving the community and uplifting those in need!
