Melody McNulty works as a social services manager at Foothill Unity Center, and her main goal is to get clients housed. Growing up in Monrovia and having faced difficulties in her life, she now dedicates herself to contributing to the community she has long been a member of.
When asked what her favorite part of her job was she said, “Working with clients brings joy, meaning, and a purpose into my life.” It gets her excited knowing that they are making a difference in these people’s lives.
Now, her fight is to advocate for more mental health resources and additional transitional housing services. She said, “Families are left out in the streets because there are not any spaces available in shelters, and there are not enough case managers to help with this problem.” She hopes these stories and interviews will spark a conversation about the need for more funding and resources for the unhoused community.
