Jack came to us with one goal in mind—to create a welcoming space for our community.
For his Eagle Scout project, Jack chose to give our patio a much-needed refresh. During our food distributions, this is the space that our unhoused community can sit down to enjoy a meal on their own, or together. Jack saw the need, and he took action.
Not only did Jack fundraise $1,500 to purchase new furniture, but he also brought together his Monrovia Boy Scout Troop 66 members to power wash the area and performed light landscaping/grounds maintenance.
Jack shared, “There’s a lot of good, deserving people here, and a small act can have a big impact.”
We are incredibly grateful for Jack and his troop’s dedication, and wish him the very best on his next chapter as a Kinesiology major at Cal Poly Pomona!
