Veronica, a 43-year-old woman had been unhoused for 11 years. She is known to be bright and positive, often sharing stories with her community members. Even through hardships, Veronica continues to inspire those around her.

Veronica stated, “I don’t wish this on anyone because no one should have to starve, but I’m very fortunate to say there are people in worse situations than me.”  Through Foothill Unity Center, she can receive hot meals, clothing, showers, social services, and health services.

Veronica has worked relentlessly with the social services department to help her receive housing. Recently, she was housed in Pasadena, in the city where she had originally grown up. Veronica expressed that from living on the streets to having a home to feel safe, “I can cook for myself and clean after myself and I can still help myself…They’ve done so much for me.”

Veronica continues to advocate for Foothill Unity Center, raising awareness of its programs that once supported her, to help others in need.
