Sometimes, all it takes is a bit of curiosity.
Grace and Paige had driven by our Monrovia Center several times before volunteering at Foothill Unity Center. After joining us during our holiday season and for Stamp Out Hunger, they both decided to dedicate their time weekly to support our Pasadena food distributions on Tuesdays.
“The clients, and our teammates, are what keep us coming back. If for some reason we can’t make it one week we miss ‘our people’. The clients will ask us, ‘where were you last week’? This makes us feel an even greater connection to the people we’re serving.” Paige wrote.
Grace and Paige also regularly donate pet food, helping ensure that every family member is counted for at mealtime.
For Grace and Paige, volunteering has become a community they look forward to each week. For us, we couldn’t be more grateful for their help in providing food to our neighbors, whether it’s one cart of groceries, a bag of kibble, or a can of wet food at a time.
