donate pies for charityWhen Lisa’s husband lost his job in 2010, the family came to us for help with food to get them through their crisis. They only needed our assitance for a few months until he found work again. Wanting to give back, Lisa, who works at Coco’s, got inspired by her restaurant’s holiday Pies for a Purpose program. It invited diners to order an extra pie to donate to a local food pantry to make their clients’ holiday dinners special. Lisa got twelve local Coco’s and Carrows to donate hundreds of pies for our families at both Thanksgiving and Christmas. She helped coordinate the pie pickups, and then volunteered to give out the pies during our Holiday Distribution.
